‘Main Character’ is the latest track from Morgan Harper-Jones. The track begins as a stripped-back, almost conversational, tune, led by lyrics peppered with her trademark wry humour. By the end, it has burst out of its shell and into a thick-textured spiral of reverb-soaked guitars and ethereal backing vocals. She describes the track as “an anxiety-spiral-slideshow featuring all of my biggest regrets, safely decanted into a 3-minute 30-second song. It was very cathartic and necessary to scream, to get all the gross feelings out.” Keep an eye out for a trio of live shows Morgan Harper-Jones will be performing in the UK this October, and her forthcoming debut album. -Dan Peeke
